Notes from the Field
Hey everyone, because of the Olympics I’ve been a bit lax in my pop culture in-take this past week. I’ve also been extremely busy with my personal life right now (for once). With that in mind, I’d like to offer up a game/quiz for you to do at your leisure (or at work; I’m not your supervisor).
I’ll be back with a full Poppington next week though!
First Name Basis
In this game, you’ll be given descriptions of two or more actors or things with the same name. You’ll have to guess the name they have in common.

A boy who loves his toys or a man who loves his housewives.
A girl with good hair or a girl with good taste (their names are comically close)
He can bend his back, he can bend time and space, he can bend your mind
A host who loves his guests, a pothead who loves pottery, a writer who loves offending everyone, a pianist who loves belters, or a ginger who loves wrestling
The dumbest person you’ll ever meet or the name for whitest people you’ll ever meet
They tried to give her an Oscar. They tried to make her go to rehab

A farewell
If you liked this, laughed at this, hated this, whatever, please subscribe and read on in the future. I put out long mixed-bag pop culture newsletters twice a month and other content ranging from small reports and updates like this to deep-dives, personal essays, playlists, and TV recaps on the off-weeks.
Thank you so much for reading!
I love you (allegedly).
